So you were invited to Sunday Gravy
-
Your host will be preparing a meal inspired by the cooking of their grandparents - it might be jello molds, a sauce simmered all day, a slow cooked roast - whatever it might be the meal will be prepared with love and intention.
There will be 6-8 guests total. Expect the conversation to turn to family, tradition and, of course, food.
It is okay if you don’t have family food traditions of your own to share, part of Sunday Gravy is taking the time to imagine what a future food tradition could be in your family.
-
Just yourself! Your host will take care of the meal so you can simply enjoy the evening.
-
The evening will spark new ideas about food and the ways in which cooking is a conduit to connection. When you leave the meal, think over the ways food connects us to the land, to each other, and to a shared history. How does it provide nourishment in your life? Is there anything you would like to change about how you cook, or how you share meals? And lastly, if you feel inspired, host a Sunday Gravy of your own.
